| There will be times when you will need to
patch up a Master or Mistress. This page is dedicated to taking you through the steps of a
medical serve. For the most part it will be basic wounds that need healing. If the injury
is more serious then it is wise to contact a Healer immediately. As well as going through
the steps of a medical serve, Contents of a Medical Kit: Kanda leaves pliers Green antiseptic powder tweezers Kanda salve small pair of scissors Paga sterilized water Needles vosk gut for suturing Pliers emetics Bandages antidotes Tying strips to secure bandages
Steps to a Medical Serve: 1 - Run to the Free's side and help them to the furs if They need it. 2 - Ask where Their wounds are. Then diagnose how serious They are. Usually the Free will tell you the most serious wound first. 3 - Ask Them if They wish a kanda leaf for the pain. If They say yes, be sure to remind Them to chew it and NOT swallow. 4 - Soak a cloth with the sterilized water and then sprinkle green antiseptic powder on the wound, gently cleansing it free of dried blood and debris that may be there. If there is anything foreign in the wound, use the tweezers to remove it. (Paga can also be used to clean the wound.) 5 - If the bleeding is severe, you may have to cauterize the wound. If this needs to be done you must ask permission first. Cauterizing is when you take a hot iron and place it to the wound quickly to stop the bleeding. 6 - If stitching is required, take a needle and thread it with vosk gut. Gently hold the skin closed and make separate stitches in a small neat line. Each stitch should be closed off separately. This helps to make sure that the skin doesn't pucker. 7 - Take healing slave from the jar and smooth it on the wound, covering the entire injury. 8 - Cover the wound with a bandage and use tying strips to hold it in place. If the wound is in a place where strips aren't usable then leave it open to the air. 9 - See if the Free requires anything else. If there is a time when there are more Frees than slaves that need medical attention. There are prepared bandages with kanda salve on them in the med kit that you can place on their wound and move onto the next Free.
